Was told by my mother that she was very pregnant, mopping up the
flooded basement and died of pneumonia.
(This was before penicillium was invented.)
At this time she was pregnant with their 4th child a little boy
who died 3 days later. According to my mother (Margaret Catherine
Lewis Roberts - her oldest daughter) he had a "horse shoe kidney"
which was fatal then. My mother also said Joseph, his father always
wanted a boy and was thrilled when he got his first grandson, Gary
Roberts in 1952.

Questions?
|
|
- Who was Sister Helen related to? What was her name before
she became a nun?
I was told that a nun took the name of a saint, therefore,
what was Sister Helen's birth name and who were her family?
We only met Sister Helen two times, but she always sent
us Easter cards and such. She was very special to my mother
Margaret.
- When were Christine and Joseph married and where?
- Did they move straight to Bakersfield and then to Detroit?
I heard that Margaret and Mildred were born in Bakersfield
and Marilyn was born in Detroit? Her father moved to Dearborn
after their mother's death to move out of the city.
- How was Great, Great Aunt Annie and her sister, Aunt
Great, Great Myrtle tied in with all this (we visited
them in Dayton, Ohio a couple of times.). Also Laura in
Dayton, Ohio who I think took care of Aunt Annie. And
Mom mentioned that we were related to an Indian who was
named John Teach and that he was from Maryland.
- Mom said we were also part Dutch. Where would this
have come in?
